The main role of Council Committees is to focus on the development of policy. New policies / procedures or amendments to existing policies are drafted by Committees with input from Commissions and staff. These are then presented to the BWF Council for consideration.
BWF Commissions are specialist working groups made up of experts in their field who review current practice and regulations, develop procedures and provide advice to Council Committees.
The BWF Strategic Plan (2008 – 2013) guides the Council, Committees, Commissions and BWF staff in the preparation of policy and annual operations plans.
